Today with technology being such a large part of our lives, libraries are not needed as much for the gathering of information but more for a place to gather and share ideas. The library for the 21st century is flexible, offering space for all age groups and needs. The local neighborhood immersion school lacks a formal library for their students; and with the school only a play field away, the location of the library is ideal for both students and teachers. Many gathering spaces are spread throughout the building, making it the perfect meeting place for the community.
AIAS COMPETITION
This project was a competition put on by the AIAS in cooperation with Kawneer; the competition slated the program of the library and called for Kawneer products to be used within the building.
